I’m thirty-one and I have wanted a nose job since I was probably fifteen or sixteen. I’ve always just been really afraid to go under for surgery. I’ve never done it until now. Finally, I was talking to a friend at a dinner and she said, “You have to go see Dr. Elkowitz.” I was like, “Well, I’m probably not going to do it, but I’ll go talk to him.” I called the office and they got me in literally within a week. Once I got here, it was a much different consult than I expected. I thought they would be trying to sell me on things or push me to do it, but really it was all about Dr. Elkowitz and the staff making me feel comfortable and completely understanding the scope of not only what I thought I needed, but what I actually would need to get the results I was looking for. So I put down my deposit the same day and made the jump. A few weeks later, I was here. It was way faster than I thought it was going to be. And a week later, it was the Fourth of July, and I was at a party, even though I still had a cast on my face. It was a lot less painful than I thought it was going to be, but honestly, overall, I would do it again and again and again for the results.

I wasn’t happy with my nose and I wanted to change it. I found Dr. Elkowitz and he made my nose really good. He’s really nice and fun, and it didn’t hurt at all. It wasn’t painful at all, and everyone loves my nose—the compliments are always high on it. I definitely recommend getting it. Even if you only dislike it a little bit, he makes it so good. And you can breathe much better too. It was honestly really good. I just went in and then they put me under. You don’t even feel anything. Recovery was nothing—I barely bruised. Right after two weeks I was literally out and about, and I’m still doing everything. I went right back to cheer after two months and I’m still fine. It’s not painful. Really, after like four days it was just the cast that was on. You could still go outside with the cast if you wanted to. I didn’t really go out for the two weeks, but if you wanted to, you could. I felt really fine. I basically slept through the first two days—it really wasn’t that bad at all. I hated the bump and I hated everything. It was really wide, and the cartilage wasn’t connected properly, so it wasn’t a good tip. My breathing wasn’t good either. And he fixed all of that. It’s so good now. Yeah—I would send someone else to him in a heartbeat.

I’ve known Dr. Elkowitz for over twenty years. I used to work at St. Francis, and when he used to come there is when we met. From day one, I always knew I wanted him to do my surgery. I trusted him—he has great bedside manner, the patients were always super happy, and he’s just been on my radar since then. I’ve actually referred people to him too, just because that’s how much I believed and trusted in his work. I wanted to have a smooth sailing operation, and that is exactly what I got. I’m a few months post-op. I had a mini lower—I wanted a snatched jaw and my neck addressed because I lost some weight, so I had a saggy neck, jowls, and I had an upper and lower blepharoplasty. I was so happy immediately from the beginning. My recovery was phenomenal. I had zero complications. It was perfect. It was absolutely perfect. I couldn’t have picked a better doctor. His team, everybody from start to finish, it was seamless. After not even two weeks, you wouldn’t have known I had anything done on my eyes. You can roll the dice and take your chances, or you can come here and know it’s going to be good. So come to Dr. Elkowitz. When I came in for the consult, it was awesome. I felt right at home. Dr. E is so down to earth. He’s not on that high horse where you feel intimidated and uncomfortable. It was right to the point. This is what I wanted to get done, and what he also recommended to make sure I was going to be even and symmetrical, which is very important to me. The whole thing was perfect. I can’t say enough good things about my experience here. These are next—I’m coming right back to him for them. I came in the morning and got wheeled right out, and my friend picked me up, and it was perfect. I would absolutely come here for anything that needs to be done. Just do it. Nobody was more scared than me. I thought I was going to the electric chair. I was terrified, I cried—I’m afraid of surgery—but I wasn’t ever worried about my results. I was never worried about anything except the pain, because I knew I was in good hands with Dr. Elkowitz. The result part of it, which a lot of people worry about, wasn’t even a thought. I was afraid of the pain, and I had no pain. If I took two pain pills, I was on Tylenol, and that was it. It was good, definitely.

I came to the office because I had a case of gynecomastia that I wanted to get removed. That was my main reason for coming in. It definitely had a major impact on my life just because that was my number one insecurity—my chest and how I felt like I looked. Getting rid of that now, I feel great. That was the biggest insecurity, so just getting rid of it is awesome. I felt it was really nice. I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially because I didn’t know if the offices would be small or maybe a little dingy-looking, but not like this. I definitely felt very comfortable, especially seeing the operating room. Everything kind of felt very nice to me. My first appointment was actually on Zoom, which I kind of liked because I felt like they were taking the extra step and trying to meet me at my convenience—I was in college so I couldn’t come down. Something I really liked that made me feel it was a good fit was the transparency. I didn’t feel like I was being fed information just to make me happy or decide to go with them. I felt like everything was very true and honest, and I do believe everything he said ended up happening. I had looked up a little bit of stuff, but he definitely answered all my questions. I always see conflicting things online, and he told me what was true and what wasn’t. He was very knowledgeable on the subject. Everyone was great—everyone was super nice. Everyone was always on the phone ready to answer if I ever needed anything. I always felt like I had a good team around me, which was nice. I think the best part for me was how easy it was. I really remember being in the car after surgery and telling my mom I would do that again tomorrow. It was so easy—just in and out. It wasn’t like I was sitting in the office for two and a half or three hours. I got there, got set up—it was a very streamlined process. Everything was just great. I’m super happy. Honestly, they exceeded my expectations. I couldn’t have pictured it being this good. And there’s still more time for it to heal, so it’s still going to get better, which makes me really excited. I recommend it to everybody, to be honest. I didn’t have a lot of pain after the surgery. The surgery was fine, the recovery wasn’t bad. Within about six weeks I was back in the gym fully. It’s just not as big of a deal as people make it out to be.

About three months ago, I had surgery on my nose for a rhinoplasty. I had issues breathing in the past, and there were some slight deficiencies with the way it looked. I'm Shelley Muir, flight attendant, and probably about two years ago, I was really looking at changing how I felt about myself with the turkey neck and a lot of, you know, just droopiness coming in here, which comes with age. I was turning sixty-nine in a year at that point, and I decided to really think seriously about getting a facelift and looking for the right plastic surgeon. So I did about a year's worth of research, and at that point I decided I definitely wanted to do it, but I wanted to make sure I had the best. So I went to my doctor, Dr. Roth, and he suggested Dr. Marc Elkowitz, and I still did my research. I came and met him and Holly and everyone, and everyone was so helpful. They weren't pushing me at all about getting it done. They took their time. They said, "Take your time to decide," and gave me all the pros and cons, which were mostly pros, I have to say. And so I decided to do it, and I still took another six months to think about it, and I came to visit the doctor with Ollie several times, and they, you know, took me through everything — what was going to happen post-surgery — and everything went just smoothly. I had no complications. It's been, let's see, in September it'll be a year; right now it's July. And I'm making very good progress. I love everybody here. Everything they promised me was true, and my doctor was also very happy with the results because he sent me here in the first place. I saw Dr. Elkowitz about my under eyes. I was not happy with the way they looked, the puffiness around them. I spoke to Dr. Elkowitz, and there was a solution to that. I was eager to find out what the solution would be, how it would look afterward, and how different my face could look. I started noticing more, quote unquote, issues with my face — the eyes had been going on for a while — to the point that I thought I was going to be stuck like that for the rest of my life, and that there weren't any solutions out there. So we did the brows, the upper eyelids, and this was the lower eyelids. Definitely, my features are more prominent — the puffiness is gone, my eyes come out more — versus in the past, when they would hide beneath that puffiness, which enhanced the dark circles even more. So now my features look more like what they should, if I didn't have those imperfections. Amazing. Like I said, I didn't know such procedures were possible — that facial imperfections like this could be corrected in such a minimal way, where you couldn't notice anything. So I was amazed, and very thankful. For the incisions on the inside, they would pull out the lower lid and alter what needed to be altered from the inside, so there would be as few visible traces as possible from the outside. Again, I was amazed that could be done — I felt normal and looked normal within a few days. People would say to me, "Oh my God, what did you do? It looks normal, it looks natural," versus what they're used to seeing online, where people alter their appearance so much. They said, "Oh my God, you had work done, but it looks so natural" — the essence of you is still there, it's just more refreshed-looking. As for the recovery, there was no pain whatsoever — I want to emphasize that. No discomfort, just cosmetically, a few days where I had to get past some puffiness from the body healing. And of course I would do it again, knowing that, like I said, the essence of me is there — it's not altered, just enhanced and refreshed. So I would definitely do it again. In a few years, I'll be back. I would say, definitely, I am living proof — going into his office for maybe one procedure, being so happy with the results, and going back to say, "Doc, what else can your wonderful hands do to enhance, once again, who I truly am — just a better version of it?" And here I am, after three or more procedures, making this testimonial — and I'm extremely, extremely happy.

April 24. Let's say we're talking about, like, three months ago. We did my eyes, we did my chin, and my neck, and my face to my nose. I feel great. I feel great. I feel very good. It happens. I went for a makeup consult with my daughter for her wedding, and you know, she's like, “Oh, you look stunning, you look stunning.” And I looked at myself in the mirror and I said, “I look old, I look old.” And I was upset because I really thought that I looked okay. I'm going to be sixty-eight years old next month. And, you know, I wanted to look rested and revived. But I was like, okay, you know, I'll do that thing that they see on TV, you know, that you put the cream on and then, wow, you look younger. But that's temporary, and then you expand and contract, and then you end up looking worse than when you started. So I found Dr. Elkowitz, and you know, I came in and the office was full of wonderful people. And he had a couple of pictures, and he just said, “You know, I can do that for you.” And I said, “You know, I want to look like myself. I want to look like myself. I don't want to look like…” I actually said, “I don't want to look like Wayne Newton. I'm just going to improve on you.” And no truer words were ever spoken, and I couldn't be happier. Funny, I thought my neck was okay. I was just worried about my eyes, that they didn't look droopy for the pictures of the wedding. And my husband chimed in. He goes, “Yeah, yeah, do your neck, do your neck.” So I said, “My neck is fine.” He goes, “No, no, no, he needs to do the neck.” So that's how it was. Really, I came in just to meet and greet, and there was no heavy pitch or anything like that. It was just, you know, you see the pictures and you see yourself, and you're like, “Okay, I want to look like that.” And that's how I feel. My sister, who is like Inspector Gadget—she really is very observant—and she said to me, “Something is different, something is different. You look… something is different.” So I said, “Well, do I look good?” She goes, “You look great.” And I said, “Well, then, can we leave it at that, please?” You know, Inspector Clouseau. And so even my own family thought that I looked good, but they couldn't quite place it—which is, I don't have platypus lips, I don't have, you know… You see some, even Hollywood. I'm like, shouldn't they have the best? Shouldn't they have the best? So I said, they might have the best, they might think they have the best, but I have the b-e-s-t of all the rest. So Dr. Elkowitz's office—this is—I'm happy to do this because, you know, I feel I'm new and improved, and I'm going to look pretty for my daughter's wedding. Well, if you have the right physician, if you have the right staff, you have the right facility, you know, you can be a little apprehensive, but the end result is perfection. And so maybe I'll do the arms, and you know, we'll see about a little pick-up, you know? And, but I don't know, you know? We'll start with the face and we'll work our way down.

Hi, my name is Nicholina, and I came to Dr. Elkowitz's practice. He was highly recommended to me by a friend of a friend. When I came into the office, the staff and he were so friendly and made me feel so comfortable that I continued with the conversation and actually ended up doing things that I hadn't planned. I lost a lot of my confidence in the process. This year I came in and saw Dr. Elkowitz. He told me that yes, it looked bad, but that we could do something about it. He went right to work on my face, and I literally felt much better even after the very first surgery he did. I had to walk around with a mask on my face for a very long time whenever I went outside. I couldn’t talk to girls. It made me feel very self-conscious about my situation and very upset. But slowly, as time went on throughout the surgeries, he helped me build my confidence back up. I’m at a point now where I can actually go outside without a mask on and feel good about it. I was very happy that I met him and very grateful. The staff here is amazing. They all helped out and made me feel comfortable every time I came in. Every time I’m here, I know that he’s going to get the job done and that it’s going to make me feel very good about myself. My post-op experience was absolutely amazing. Everybody here is fantastic. I am just short of a week into my surgery. I’m a little bruised, as you can see, and my jaw is still a little swollen. But already it is so amazingly… it’s just so amazing. I can actually see now the difference between my chin and my neck. I can already start seeing a chiseled jawline here, even though it’s still very swollen. It still has a long way to go, but I am so excited to get back on camera and show you guys in another couple of weeks what’s going on. So thank you guys for everything. I love my grandmother—she was the best thing since sliced bread. I feel like a grandmother’s love versus a mother’s love is two different things, right? It makes you feel safe all the time. No matter what is going on, it will always be great at grandma’s house. So I feel like no matter what goes on, you’ll always be safe with him. I feel like he’s just like a bowl of ice cream, candy, everything all wrapped into one. It doesn’t get any better than him—as a doctor, just as a human being, as a person. He’s real, he’s honest, he’s just special. And I can’t say any more about him than that. If you get to sit with him and talk with him, you’ll understand where I’m coming from. He does it. He’s nothing like anyone else. He’s like your next-door neighbor. It’s like your friend you’ve known forever. I met him through a referral. I didn’t know him before. I only saw one plastic surgeon—that was my first, my last, and my only. That’s it. I’ll be 53 in December—December 5th. Originally I went to my OB-GYN, which was at Jamaica Hospital. I had my daughter in 2002, and I wanted my stomach done. I wanted a tummy tuck because when I had my son in 1992, my son was 10 pounds, 7 ounces, and he stretched my stomach out to its capacity. So once I had my daughter, I had a lot of loose hanging skin and I wanted to have a tummy tuck. I had three hernias. I had to have scar tissue removed. My navel collapsed. Then I had to have my muscles rebuilt, plus having implants. Now, I don’t think implant surgery is that bad. I don’t feel like it hurts that much. If you’ve had kids before and you know how it feels when you’re about to breastfeed or you have milk coming in—that’s what it feels like to me. So changing out implants or getting implants in general wasn’t a big deal for me. I was always glad to get new boobs. He gave me new implants, lifted my breasts, and made my areolas a little smaller. I’ve been under the knife for them a lot of times. I felt like when I needed someone, I had him. When I was feeling like I was at my worst because of the situation with my midsection—mainly, I was still young, I was less than 30, and I wanted to have a flat stomach—I just hated it. But I met him. He was so sweet all the time, so happy and so giddy. He just made you feel safe. No matter what he was getting ready to do to you, he’d come near, mark you, play his music in there while he was doing your surgery. He’d call you after. He sent me a robe and some lotion and different stuff. He’s just so sweet. I can’t get enough of him. And then later on I met his wife in the office one day, and she’s just the same as he is. So I talked to him not just as a patient, and I talked to his wife also just being her friend. It was just priceless. I really can’t explain it. I refer people to him all the time because people always want to go elsewhere and get surgeries because it’s cheaper. And I tell people all the time: your body is not a down tree, so stop trying to find a bargain for it. I’ve sent so many people to him over the years. I’m always like an advertisement for him. I don’t just say he’s great—I say, “Well, look what he did to me,” and I take my shirt off. I show them my stomach. I don’t have a problem, just because I’m so excited about the work that he’s done and how long it’s lasted. I always tell him, if I had any more money I would have him hit me from the neck down—just keep going.

I was coming in for Botox, and I would sit in the waiting room and see these women who looked absolutely stunning. I knew that he probably had done some work on them, and I became very comfortable having him operate on my face when I saw the results in the waiting room. I had a neck lift with a mini facelift—that was a bonus with the mini facelift—and you can’t see any scars whatsoever. I cannot believe how I look. I’m so absolutely thrilled, and I feel like I look 35 again. He also lengthened my neck, and I really look about 15 pounds lighter—even though I haven’t lost the pounds. I was told about Dr. Elkowitz by a family friend who had previously had some reconstructive work done with him. I had been battling what I can best describe as a caving-in of my chin. I went to several doctors — dermatologists and general practitioners — and none of them could tell me what I had. I was becoming a bit desperate and very depressed. My family friend suggested I go see Dr. Elkowitz, saying that he and his wife had really helped him. So I came in for a consultation. Dr. Elkowitz was very honest. He told me they could help, but that it would be a process — it might not be just one visit; it could take several treatments to get the look I wanted. In a way, I wanted to look the way I did about ten years ago. It’s not that I want to look younger — I just want my chin to get back to normal. And he is helping me with that. The office is very nice and clean, and it’s in a good location. The first impression I got from the staff was that they were very friendly and easy-going. I’m used to going to doctors’ offices that feel cold and very serious, but I didn’t get that here. The vibe was friendly and down-to-earth, and I liked that. It made me feel comfortable and not embarrassed to talk about my insecurities. I was looking for help and an honest opinion, and that’s exactly what I received from the staff and from Dr. Elkowitz. At first I didn’t know what to expect. I showed him my face and he asked me some questions. It was a very straightforward interaction. He suggested I try filler as a first step to see where that went, and it was successful. Then he suggested the next step, which was fat injection, and that is helping. When I look at the skin now, it has expanded and it feels natural. That’s really important to me. At first with the filler it felt a little tense and awkward, but the fat injection feels completely different — it feels natural, and I like that. The first step is usually the hardest, and for me that took many years. I would advise any of my friends who are going through similar insecurities — who want to improve their appearance but feel embarrassed or think it will cost too much — that you have nothing to lose. Go see Dr. Elkowitz, get the information. That’s the first step. It may not be for you, but it could be. Again, you have nothing to lose. Just take that first step to help improve yourself. He’s very friendly. He makes you feel comfortable, and he has a way of talking to you that doesn’t feel like he’s talking down or treating you like you’re ignorant. He uses regular language — he’s not talking over your head. He’s informative, but he’s also open and listens to you. He made me feel very comfortable. And what makes his personality even better is that he’s funny. He makes me laugh, and that’s a good thing.

I may sound a little biased, but the team here is amazing. All I can say is, if you have to do plastic surgery, you need to come here—because not just the doctor is great. His entire staff is phenomenal. They’re so attentive. They make you feel like everything is going to be okay. I had a breast reduction and a lift. I had a tummy tuck. I had my flanks done. I did some liposuction. And then I had the fat that was removed from my stomach put into my buttocks, which is phenomenal. My surgery was February 7th—six weeks ago. Today is my six-week checkup, and I am delighted. It’s better than even my friends and nurses anticipated. I healed pretty well. I’m moving around a lot faster than they thought I would be. And my boobs look amazing. I think because I had a C-section before, the pain wasn’t too intense. The first week was, of course, intense, but after that it gradually diminished. I think someone mentioned Dr. Elkowitz to me, but I also Googled him. And everything I read, when I met him in person and the team in person—it exceeded anything I could have imagined. I did have a consultation before I came here, and I was very underwhelmed with that process. That’s what made me keep looking. But after I spoke to him, what impressed me so much was that he sat with me and explained everything. It wasn’t like, “Yeah, yeah, just see someone.” It was more integral. He explained the entire procedure, everything that he would do, and how the process would work. And he didn’t give me what I wanted—he gave me what was right for my body. And that impressed me. It’s very comforting to come someplace where the doctor remembers you—because I’ve been places where they have to look at your chart to remember your name. And the staff remembers you when you walk in, and they can have a conversation with you. It feels very… I wish my PCP was like this. The doctor came in, explained everything to me. He marked me up, and I was like, “Oh, okay, this is what we’re doing.” But it was great. I think it took me a longer time to come up—I think I overslept. But I had no issues. I didn’t feel anything once the surgery was done. I’m very happy with everything that I experienced here. I’m actually referring people left and right. I think you need a prescription pad just so I can write people out to come here. One of the things that stood out was meeting the anesthesiologist ahead of time. Usually you meet them the morning of. The doctor usually gives you the information you need, and then you meet the anesthesiologist the morning of your procedure. So having that experience alone made me feel like I was doing the right thing at the right place. If I have to do anything else, I absolutely would come here and do it. I’m just thinking of stuff to do so I can always be a patient. I would say if you have any anxiety or apprehensions about plastic surgery, come in and speak to the team here. They will absolutely make you feel a lot more comfortable than you thought you would. Because like I said, the doctor doesn’t give you what you think you want—he gives you the right thing for your body. My breasts were not symmetrical. One of my breasts was almost on my lap and the other one was to my stomach. And I explained to him what I wanted, and he said to me, “Your body frame can’t go any smaller. So I’m going to give you what fits your frame.” And that made me so comfortable. Because at that point, I knew he was not going to give me something that didn’t fit my body, but what actually fits my body. Even when I said about moving the fat to my butt, he was like, “You’re not going to have something that you could put a couple on, but you’ll have a nice butt.” So just knowing that—because in society now, everything is about large, large, large. However, he gave me exactly what I needed. And at 52 years old, my confidence is through the roof. I can’t wait to take these boobs on a ride. Oh, life has changed because now I can wear things. A lot of times things couldn’t fit me just because of my chest. So I had to keep going larger and larger just because of my breast area. Now I can wear anything I want. I can’t wait to not have to wear a bra—because I haven’t worn, I had to wear a bra every day since I was 18 years old. So even when I’m in the house and I have company, I have to put a bra on because it’s obnoxious the way my breasts looked. So I wasn’t comfortable with it. The worst part is going on vacation with other people and other women bouncing around with no bra on, and I have to put on a bra under my pajamas just to come out of the room. So the breasts have changed my life dramatically. And I really can’t wait till this summer—till we have sundresses, till we have a bikini, to wear a tank top with no bra on. I’m so excited.
