Injectables to Rejuvenate Your
Fun-in-the-Sun Summer Appearance

Putting your best face forward in the summer is top of mind for many. After all, the season is a social one, filled with beach trips, barbecues and warm nights spent with friends and family. Even as we savor the last bits of summer, it’s never too late to enhance your appearance, especially if you’ve had previous work done and are due for a retouch.

What most people don’t know, however, is that you don’t need to go under the knife to achieve that sunkissed glow. Cosmetic injectables are a fantastic option for creating a healthy, youthful look without surgery.

What Are Injectables?

Injectables are soft tissue fillers injected into the skin to smooth out facial wrinkles, boost facial volume and augment facial features. Fillers usually go around the eyes, nose, mouth and forehead. The results are noticeable almost instantly and last for months. Some even last over a year.

Eventually, the fillers are absorbed into the body, so you’ll need to get them redone. Still, injectables are a perfect solution for near-immediate results–and they’re excellent for a natural-looking summertime glow.

Types Of Injectables

Several injectables exist to serve different purposes. We’ll list some of the most common options below.

  • Botox

Probably one of the most popular treatments on the market, Botox works by relaxing facial muscles that cause wrinkles. It takes a couple of days to see results. Botox injections last for three months or longer, but you’ll need follow-up injections to keep the effect.

  • Juvederm

This injection’s active ingredient is hyaluronic acid, which helps keep your skin plump and hydrated. Hyaluronic acid is produced by your body naturally, but it diminishes with age. Juvederm injections can last up to 18 months.

  • Voluma

Voluma is designed specifically to restore the appearance of plump, healthy cheeks. The injection is placed deep within the skin to prevent sagging. Juvederm works by binding to the natural moisture in your skin, which yields a completely organic look when you move or smile.

  • Radiesse

Radiesse, a filler that also acts as a collagen stimulator, lasts for up to two years. It works nicely to fix a sagging jawline and other non-facial areas, but it’s also used against marionette lines and nasolabial folds.

  • Sculptra

This injectable triggers your body’s natural production processes to stimulate collagen growth. It’s most commonly used for tear troughs and addressing under-eye bags.

Most injectables work towards the same purpose: to restore a naturally youthful appearance. As a result, you’re largely able to pick and choose which kind of injectable you’d like to receive.
