I'm Shelley Muir, flight attendant, and probably about two years ago, I was really looking at changing how I felt about myself with the turkey neck and a lot of, you know, just droopiness coming in here, which comes with age. I was turning sixty-nine in a year at that point, and I decided to really think seriously about getting a facelift and looking for the right plastic surgeon. So I did about a year's worth of research, and at that point I decided I definitely wanted to do it, but I wanted to make sure I had the best. So I went to my doctor, Dr. Roth, and he suggested Dr. Marc Elkowitz, and I still did my research. I came and met him and Holly and everyone, and everyone was so helpful. They weren't pushing me at all about getting it done. They took their time. They said, "Take your time to decide," and gave me all the pros and cons, which were mostly pros, I have to say. And so I decided to do it, and I still took another six months to think about it, and I came to visit the doctor with Ollie several times, and they, you know, took me through everything — what was going to happen post-surgery — and everything went just smoothly. I had no complications. It's been, let's see, in September it'll be a year; right now it's July. And I'm making very good progress. I love everybody here. Everything they promised me was true, and my doctor was also very happy with the results because he sent me here in the first place. About what the recovery process was going to be like. But basically, you leave the operating theater with, like, an Ace bandage that goes around your head, and with some straps to hold it in place for medical reasons—to keep the surgery intact. And you wear that for ten days. And it's relatively easy. You can shower the day after. You can basically do all the things you want to do, except if you're an Olympic weightlifter, you might want to hold off on that. But other than that, you can do pretty much what you do. You can eat, drink, you know, do whatever you need, and not a problem. I was out in two days. I was out going to CVS, going to the supermarket, because I can't stay home. I'm the kind of person that crawls up walls if I have to stay home. So, you know, I wore a hoodie to make it a little less obvious, because, you know, an Ace bandage on your head isn't a thing you see every day walking down the street, and you might get some comments, but nobody does anything. This is New York. Two days later, they removed the drains, and I haven't had any pain at all. I think it's great. I mean, I'm as happy as could be. You know, it all exceeded all my expectations, to tell you the truth, because, you know, in your mind, when you think about things, you always dig into the worst things that could possibly happen. And none of those things happened, and only a good result came.

It happens. I went for a makeup consult with my daughter for her wedding, and you know, she's like, “Oh, you look stunning, you look stunning.” And I looked at myself in the mirror and I said, “I look old, I look old.” And I was upset because I really thought that I looked okay. I'm going to be sixty-eight years old next month. And, you know, I wanted to look rested and revived. But I was like, okay, you know, I'll do that thing that they see on TV, you know, that you put the cream on and then, wow, you look younger. But that's temporary, and then you expand and contract, and then you end up looking worse than when you started. So I found Dr. Elkowitz, and you know, I came in and the office was full of wonderful people. And he had a couple of pictures, and he just said, “You know, I can do that for you.” And I said, “You know, I want to look like myself. I want to look like myself. I don't want to look like…” I actually said, “I don't want to look like Wayne Newton. I'm just going to improve on you.” And no truer words were ever spoken, and I couldn't be happier. Funny, I thought my neck was okay. I was just worried about my eyes, that they didn't look droopy for the pictures of the wedding. And my husband chimed in. He goes, “Yeah, yeah, do your neck, do your neck.” So I said, “My neck is fine.” He goes, “No, no, no, he needs to do the neck.” So that's how it was. Really, I came in just to meet and greet, and there was no heavy pitch or anything like that. It was just, you know, you see the pictures and you see yourself, and you're like, “Okay, I want to look like that.” And that's how I feel. My sister, who is like Inspector Gadget—she really is very observant—and she said to me, “Something is different, something is different. You look… something is different.” So I said, “Well, do I look good?” She goes, “You look great.” And I said, “Well, then, can we leave it at that, please?” You know, Inspector Clouseau. And so even my own family thought that I looked good, but they couldn't quite place it—which is, I don't have platypus lips, I don't have, you know… You see some, even Hollywood. I'm like, shouldn't they have the best? Shouldn't they have the best? So I said, they might have the best, they might think they have the best, but I have the b-e-s-t of all the rest. So Dr. Elkowitz's office—this is—I'm happy to do this because, you know, I feel I'm new and improved, and I'm going to look pretty for my daughter's wedding. Well, if you have the right physician, if you have the right staff, you have the right facility, you know, you can be a little apprehensive, but the end result is perfection. And so maybe I'll do the arms, and you know, we'll see about a little pick-up, you know? And, but I don't know, you know? We'll start with the face and we'll work our way down.

I saw Dr. Elkowitz about my under eyes. I was not happy with the way they looked, the puffiness around them. I spoke to Dr. Elkowitz, and there was a solution to that. I was eager to find out what the solution would be, how it would look afterward, and how different my face could look. I started noticing more, quote unquote, issues with my face — the eyes had been going on for a while — to the point that I thought I was going to be stuck like that for the rest of my life, and that there weren't any solutions out there. So we did the brows, the upper eyelids, and this was the lower eyelids. Definitely, my features are more prominent — the puffiness is gone, my eyes come out more — versus in the past, when they would hide beneath that puffiness, which enhanced the dark circles even more. So now my features look more like what they should, if I didn't have those imperfections. Amazing. Like I said, I didn't know such procedures were possible — that facial imperfections like this could be corrected in such a minimal way, where you couldn't notice anything. So I was amazed, and very thankful. For the incisions on the inside, they would pull out the lower lid and alter what needed to be altered from the inside, so there would be as few visible traces as possible from the outside. Again, I was amazed that could be done — I felt normal and looked normal within a few days. People would say to me, "Oh my God, what did you do? It looks normal, it looks natural," versus what they're used to seeing online, where people alter their appearance so much. They said, "Oh my God, you had work done, but it looks so natural" — the essence of you is still there, it's just more refreshed-looking. As for the recovery, there was no pain whatsoever — I want to emphasize that. No discomfort, just cosmetically, a few days where I had to get past some puffiness from the body healing. And of course I would do it again, knowing that, like I said, the essence of me is there — it's not altered, just enhanced and refreshed. So I would definitely do it again. In a few years, I'll be back. I would say, definitely, I am living proof — going into his office for maybe one procedure, being so happy with the results, and going back to say, "Doc, what else can your wonderful hands do to enhance, once again, who I truly am — just a better version of it?" And here I am, after three or more procedures, making this testimonial — and I'm extremely, extremely happy.

Hi, my name is Nicholina, and I came to Dr. Elkowitz's practice. He was highly recommended to me by a friend of a friend. When I came into the office, the staff and he were so friendly and made me feel so comfortable that I continued with the conversation and actually ended up doing things that I hadn't planned. I didn't like my eyes—I had bags underneath my eyes—and he made suggestions for that that ended up going into a little tummy tuck, and then into an arm procedure. I told them, “I'm going to hold you off for the next things that I think I definitely need,” but that's how I started. And now I'm a little—what do you say—attracted to it, or I really enjoy the outcome. If you go on Google and read everyone's comments, it's a little nerve-wracking. But I came here and I found that for me it was one, two, three—it was very easy. The recovery wasn't bad at all. While I was in the operating room, I felt nothing. Once again, the procedure—I go in, I felt nothing, I felt hardly anything, and coming out was just a question of recovering. A little black and blue when I came out, which was expected, but within a matter of weeks I was back to myself, and I just love the way I come out. My makeup goes on very easily, and actually I'm wearing less makeup now than ever. I have nothing to cover—just the natural way, which I love. I would definitely, without a doubt, refer to Dr. Elkowitz. He is informative, he takes his time with you, he answers any questions you want. He makes you feel comfortable, and he tells you exactly what's going to happen before, during, and after. And so far, everything that he has said has come to pass. The staff is amazing. Anytime you pick up the phone and call, someone is willing to talk to you, refer you, help you. In fact, we talk about different things when I come into the office, and it's just part of making you feel comfortable. When I had an accident working on a circuit board, the soldering tool ended up burning my face. The burn mark left me very disappointed, very sad, and very upset with myself. I lost a lot of my confidence in the process. This year I came in and saw Dr. Elkowitz. He told me that yes, it looked bad, but that we could do something about it. He went right to work on my face, and I literally felt much better even after the very first surgery he did. I had to walk around with a mask on my face for a very long time whenever I went outside. I couldn’t talk to girls. It made me feel very self-conscious about my situation and very upset. But slowly, as time went on throughout the surgeries, he helped me build my confidence back up. I was told about Dr. Elkowitz by a family friend who had previously had some reconstructive work done with him. I had been battling what I can best describe as a caving-in of my chin. I went to several doctors — dermatologists and general practitioners — and none of them could tell me what I had. I was becoming a bit desperate and very depressed. My family friend suggested I go see Dr. Elkowitz, saying that he and his wife had really helped him. So I came in for a consultation. Dr. Elkowitz was very honest. He told me they could help, but that it would be a process — it might not be just one visit; it could take several treatments to get the look I wanted. In a way, I wanted to look the way I did about ten years ago. It’s not that I want to look younger — I just want my chin to get back to normal. And he is helping me with that. The office is very nice and clean, and it’s in a good location. The first impression I got from the staff was that they were very friendly and easy-going. I’m used to going to doctors’ offices that feel cold and very serious, but I didn’t get that here. The vibe was friendly and down-to-earth, and I liked that. It made me feel comfortable and not embarrassed to talk about my insecurities. I was looking for help and an honest opinion, and that’s exactly what I received from the staff and from Dr. Elkowitz. At first I didn’t know what to expect. I showed him my face and he asked me some questions. It was a very straightforward interaction. He suggested I try filler as a first step to see where that went, and it was successful. Then he suggested the next step, which was fat injection, and that is helping. When I look at the skin now, it has expanded and it feels natural. That’s really important to me. At first with the filler it felt a little tense and awkward, but the fat injection feels completely different — it feels natural, and I like that. The first step is usually the hardest, and for me that took many years. I would advise any of my friends who are going through similar insecurities — who want to improve their appearance but feel embarrassed or think it will cost too much — that you have nothing to lose. Go see Dr. Elkowitz, get the information. That’s the first step. It may not be for you, but it could be. Again, you have nothing to lose. Just take that first step to help improve yourself. He’s very friendly. He makes you feel comfortable, and he has a way of talking to you that doesn’t feel like he’s talking down or treating you like you’re ignorant. He uses regular language — he’s not talking over your head. He’s informative, but he’s also open and listens to you. He made me feel very comfortable. And what makes his personality even better is that he’s funny. He makes me laugh, and that’s a good thing.

My post-op experience was absolutely amazing. Everybody here is fantastic. I am just short of a week into my surgery. I’m a little bruised, as you can see, and my jaw is still a little swollen. But already it is so amazingly… it’s just so amazing. I can actually see now the difference between my chin and my neck. I can already start seeing a chiseled jawline here, even though it’s still very swollen. It still has a long way to go, but I am so excited to get back on camera and show you guys in another couple of weeks what’s going on. So thank you guys for everything. This has been an amazing experience so far, and it’s only been a week. Yay! Thank you so much.

He's got a wonderful way about him—you know, I get anxious and he always comes in with a joke and makes me feel very comfortable, and we always have a great time whenever I'm here. I’ve known Dr. Elkowitz for over twenty years. I used to work at St. Francis, and when he used to come there is when we met. From day one, I always knew I wanted him to do my surgery. I trusted him—he has great bedside manner, the patients were always super happy, and he’s just been on my radar since then. I’ve actually referred people to him too, just because that’s how much I believed and trusted in his work. I wanted to have a smooth sailing operation, and that is exactly what I got. I’m a few months post-op. I had a mini lower—I wanted a snatched jaw and my neck addressed because I lost some weight, so I had a saggy neck, jowls, and I had an upper and lower blepharoplasty. I was so happy immediately from the beginning. My recovery was phenomenal. I had zero complications. It was perfect. It was absolutely perfect. I couldn’t have picked a better doctor. His team, everybody from start to finish, it was seamless. After not even two weeks, you wouldn’t have known I had anything done on my eyes. You can roll the dice and take your chances, or you can come here and know it’s going to be good. So come to Dr. Elkowitz. When I came in for the consult, it was awesome. I felt right at home. Dr. E is so down to earth. He’s not on that high horse where you feel intimidated and uncomfortable. It was right to the point. This is what I wanted to get done, and what he also recommended to make sure I was going to be even and symmetrical, which is very important to me. The whole thing was perfect. I can’t say enough good things about my experience here. These are next—I’m coming right back to him for them. I came in the morning and got wheeled right out, and my friend picked me up, and it was perfect. I would absolutely come here for anything that needs to be done. Just do it. Nobody was more scared than me. I thought I was going to the electric chair. I was terrified, I cried—I’m afraid of surgery—but I wasn’t ever worried about my results. I was never worried about anything except the pain, because I knew I was in good hands with Dr. Elkowitz. The result part of it, which a lot of people worry about, wasn’t even a thought. I was afraid of the pain, and I had no pain. If I took two pain pills, I was on Tylenol, and that was it. It was good, definitely.

I was coming in for Botox, and I would sit in the waiting room and see these women who looked absolutely stunning. I knew that he probably had done some work on them, and I became very comfortable having him operate on my face when I saw the results in the waiting room. I had a neck lift with a mini facelift—that was a bonus with the mini facelift—and you can’t see any scars whatsoever. I cannot believe how I look. I’m so absolutely thrilled, and I feel like I look 35 again. He also lengthened my neck, and I really look about 15 pounds lighter—even though I haven’t lost the pounds. I’m about two and a half weeks out. I was very comfortable. I came in the next day. I was able to come in and see him post-op the next day just for him to check, and I really wasn’t any more uncomfortable than a cold, maybe. I mean, it’s the truth. I was thinking about doing it for a good three or four years, and I just wanted to wait and see. I just didn’t know the right doctor to go to, and I was very scared about who I was going to allow to touch my face because I’ve seen such awful work that it’s very frightening. Dr. Elkowitz just made me feel completely at ease. He has a great sense of humor, and I just felt so comfortable—even all the way down into the operating room up until they sedated me. It was just a wonderful experience. I’m thrilled. I’m just so thrilled—so much so that I’m willing to speak on social media about it when this is such a private thing. I say do it. It will make you feel 15 years younger inside. It will change your life. It will change how you perceive yourself when you look in the mirror. I feel pretty again. I feel pretty. My kids say, “Mommy, you look pretty.” They always thought I was pretty, but they’re like, “You look beautiful.” My husband is thrilled. Everybody is thrilled, and I’m really, really happy. And if you’re going to use a doctor, I would use Dr. Elkowitz.
